Congolese Man Abducted Two Children
Chibuta in her statement at Kanyama Legal Advice Centre complained that she was married to Ipandu Kasongo of Kabinde Village, Lubumbashi in1994. She said that she had two children with this man but due to marital problems, she decided to be on separation with him. Chibuta went to settle in Mpika after that decision. She states that during the period of separation, Kasongo did not provide anything for her and the children. On 24th April this year she travelled with her children from Mpika to Lusaka. When Kasongo learned of her arrival, he requested to take the children and look after them for three weeks. On 16th June, Kasongo fled with the children to Congo using false documents. She claimed that early this month, Kasongo came back from Congo without the children. The woman is seeking legal advice on how she can get her children back .She has expressed worry over the children because one is in grade two and another in grade one. She was advised to report the matter to the Police so that the man can be charged with possessing false documents. She was also advised to take the matter to the court so that the court can declare who should take custody of the children. | Front page | Chayafya did not kill Penza | Prohibited Immigrant dies in Prison | Letters to the Editor | Corporal Punishment still alive | Prison programme extended to Livingstone | Step child not entitled to benefits | Immigration officers challenged | Death Penalty should be abolished | Know your rights | National Registration | Widow Gets support against property grabbing | Man ordered to compensate his brother | Six Juveniles released | Congolese man abducted two children | Four Police officers face legal charges | Sue the Police officer | National Registration |
