16-Year-Old-Girl Rejected By His Father

A 16-year-old girl was this year rejected by her biological father after she requested to visit her grand mother during school holidays.
Narrating the ordeal to Mongu paralegal officer Joe Mulafulafu , Lungowe Muhau said in October last year she asked for permission from her step mother that after writing her grade seven exams she would like to visit her grand mother (on her mother's side), but her step mother black mailed her to tell her father who rejected her request.
She said she had stayed with her father from the time she was in grade one until last year when her father rejected her and chased her. She said she was now staying with her uncle.
She said when her uncle heard what happened he reported the case to Legal Resources Foundation (LRF) in Mongu.
She said she wants the office to assist her reconcile with her father as she still needed support from him.
"I still need him because he is the only father I have, I need support from him as he is responsible for my living, I need to further my education I just wrote my exams, she complained.
Mongu paralegal officer Mulafulafu called for mediation but the father to the girl refused to come.
