Kasama man deserts matrimonial home

A man of Mutoba Village in Kasama district has deserted his matrimonial home in preference of a concubine's.

Christopher Mwamba, who is legally married to Ireen Mulenga has since neglected his family a concern that caused his wife to seek redress through Legal Resources Foundation(LRF).

Mwamba told LRF paralegal Kelvin Simwaka that she does not mind his whereabouts provided he is supporting the family he left behind.

“Life is not easy because I am a full house wife without any source of income. Supporting the family when I am short of means to generate money is almost impossible. I want him to be responsible and support his children,” Mulenga lamented.

And LRF's Simwaka sent an enquiry letter to Mwamba where he explained his obligation as a father under the Maintenance and Affiliation Act Cap 64 of the laws of Zambia.

Mwamba has since agreed to return home and continue taking care of his family.
